Happy 2009!

Can you believe it?  It’s 2009.  Where did last year go so fast?  As our parents used to tell us, the older you get, the faster time flies.  As a 10 year old, I never really knew what that meant.  It seemed like an eternity between birthdays, but now as a 40 year old, I truly understand.

Thanks again for all of the support in 2008.  We really do appreciate it.  We want to make 2009 even better.  We’ll be offering new products, new ideas, and maybe even a few surprises during 2009, so check back with us often.

Bake Cookies Day

Hi;

  Today is Bake Cookies Day.  I thought I’d post a simple, no frills Christmas cookie recipe.  Get the kids in the Christmas spirit by letting them help in the kitchen make these yummy cookies.  Tomorrow is Oatmeal muffin day, so get ready for your fiber!  We’ll try to get you a good muffin recipe tomorrow.

Holiday Store Hours

Here is our Holiday Store hour schedule for the upcoming Christmas holiday:

Our store will be closing at 12 noon on Wed the 24th of December(Christmas Eve), and will not re-open until Friday January 2 at 9am.

If you should place a web order during that time, please know that it will not receive any attention until we return on Jan 2nd.

Our store does vacations and inventory during this time.

Everyone’s Favorite Peanut Brittle

I got some peanut brittle in a gft basket the other day and enjoyed it so much, I thought I’d share a great brittle recipe with you for the holidays.

1 Tsp Salt
1 TBsp Vanilla
1 Cup White Corn Syrup
2 Cups Sugar
2 Cups Halved Peanuts
1/2 Cup Hot Water
2 TBsp Butter
1 1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
1 Cup Well Toasted Coconut(optional)

1. Separate each nut into halves(No whole nuts).
2. Clean, wash, and dry a good flat surface to pour out the brittle mix onto.
